What's The Difference Between A "Consignment Shop" And A "Thrift Shop"?
A consignment shop features items that are brought in by consigners. They receive a portion of the sale. A "high end" consignment shop like Act II also often has better quality items because we are very particular about what items we will sell. The key with consignment shops is to come in frequently because merchandise always changes. A good strategy is not to wait to shop for that important event, but come by and then buy when you find something because it could be gone the next time that you come in. At thrift shops a portion of the sales benefit an organization, often a non-profit. Items are not always in the best condition.
